SOIL NAILING – GROUTED NAILS and DRIVEN NAILS/SELF DRILLING NAILS

Used to balance out existing slants or to help unearthings. Firmly dispersed steel support (nails) is driven or grouted in bored gaps in the slant or are introduced in unearthed sides of profound unearthings as exhuming advances. In an appropriately planned soil nailed structure, the activation of nail opposition expands soil protection from shear. Shotcrete with wire work to stop disintegration and improve style and waste game plans are ordinarily given.

EARTH RETENTION SYSTEM – CONTIGUOUS PILE & SOLDIER PILES/H PILES

Soldier piles & lagging walls, H-Piles, Contiguous or Secant piles, Contiguous Bored Piles with or without soil Anchors are used as soil retention system for deep excavations.

H PILE

HPiles are dimensionally square structural beams that are driven in the ground for deep foundation applications. Most soils at or near surface do not have the mechanical properties to support large buildings. As you go deeper into the earth’s geology, there are layers (bearing strata) capable of doing so.

CONTIGUOUS PILE

A contiguous pile wall is simply a row of concrete soldier piles installed so that each pile is in contact, or near contact, with piles on either side of it.  There is, however, a relatively large increase in cost for this system in comparison with concrete soldier piles.  The technique is therefore generally only used in unstable soil profiles (soft saturated clays or sands) which do not have an ability to arch between adjacent piles.

GROUTED/DRIVEN ANCHORS

Grouted Anchor are post-installed bars utilizing a high strength grout for the bonding material. The advantage of using a grout versus an epoxy is cement grout does not break down in high heat areas and can be pumped into deep embedded holes easier than epoxy.

DIAPHRAGM WALL

A diaphragm wall is a concrete reinforced Wall built underground. It can be executed in any type of soil, according to the strength of soil, a different excavation equipment maybe used. Bentonitic muds or polymeric muds maybe used according to soil stability conditions. The main advantage of Diaphragm Wall (slurry wall) is the great retention capacity and good watertightness, making it idoneous solution for great underground structures such as parkings, subway train stations, road underpasses, cutt-off Walls, slurry mixer, etc.

ROCK BOLTING/ANCHORING/HILL SLOPE PROTECTION

Rock bolting is a primary means of rock reinforcement used to stabilize excavated rock in underground mines and tunneling. Rock bolts are systematically arranged in such a manner as to transfer the load from the unstable surface or exterior of the rock, to the stronger interior part of the rock.
